The Ballinasloe Agricultural Horse Show is the oldest Show in Ireland, if not in Europe, It has run continually since the early Eighteen Hundreds and is older than the RDS in Dublin.
It is one of a very few Shows to own their own grounds which was built as a show grounds. The Show Committee has upgraded their showground’s over the years, the latest up grade done in 2009 when €150.000 was spent on the latest upgrade. They can now stage show jumping at any grade.
