BALLINASLOE SHOW NEWSLETTER 2012

The July Show Jumping takes place on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July 2012.

This is the first show we are running this year and a big effort will have to be made to make it a success.

It is important that all members put in a big effort on those two days and come in to help on the days of the show.

It is also important that members either get a sponsor for one hundred euro’s or pay it themselves, to help with the sponsorship for the July show.

A committee meeting will be held on Tuesday the 17th July in Gullanes Hotel at 9 o’clock.

Appointment of stewards and putting up the jumps on the days before the show will take place on this night.  It is very important that everyone turns up at this meeting as it is the best fund raising show that we have.

The Agricultural Show takes place on Saturday 29th September 2012.  Preparation for this show will have to take place as soon as the show jumping day is over. New ideas are very welcome in any way that the Agricultural Show can be made more attractive to the general public.

The country fair day and the following day of show jumping will take place on Friday 5th, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October 2012. A lot of preparation will have to go in to organising of these days.

On the Saturday the 6th October a Food Hall, competitions for Vegetables, Baking, Children’s Art is been organised with two All Ireland Finals in Connemara Ponies and the All Ireland Donkey Final as well as a Donkey Derby, Showjumping and other side attractions.

Sunday 7th will be all Showjumping, with the Connacht Final Grand Prix taking place.

Also the parking in the show grounds on Sunday 30th September and Monday 1st October 2012 will have to be organised, as this is our main fund raiser for the year.

A big effort will have to be made this year to collect sponsorship for the Agricultural Show, as it is very difficult to get sponsorship in the town with all the business that have closed down since last year. Every effort will be made to get sponsorship from outside the town.

A big effort to attract new members into the show is to be made this year, as more help will be most welcome in the running this large programme that is planned for this year. Men and Woman any age is most welcome even if they can come in on one day of the show.
